A moodboard created while feeling a shift in the air. Encompassing a more circular view of inspiration. Typically, when I’m immersed in other pursuits and arts, it fills my cup and the stillness clears my vision. Then you can remind yourself of what your perspective is and how you want to refocus, and hone in.
September is a transitional time, and I’m not surprised watery blues of renewal and verdant, mossy greens are speaking to me. The button-up and utilitarian-yet-unnecessary “coffee-belt” remind me of back-to-school outfits, gearing up for a fresh start. Grounding with rest, nature, and engaging in the senses are how I like to take part in the change of seasons.
What’s on my Coffee Table:
One of my favorite styling methods is to pump up the volume. Keep the item the same — in this case incense, palo santo, sage — and multiply it in the confines of your large vessel(s). Then you really exaggerate the effect, and not to mention the scent! It’s an easy way to give more but is not visually overwhelming or cluttered since it’s the same object. The same can be applied for vessels, books, florals …
What’s in my Earbuds:
Currently listening to Imaginal Disk by Magdalena Bay. We’ve been given so many stellar pop albums this year, and the hits just keep coming. This production feels new and nostalgic all wrapped in one. It feels like floating in a dreamy ‘90s screensaver loaded with so many callback elements. I’m no music critic but here is Pitchfork's Imaginal Disk album review to give a little more context to whatever magic is on that album. If The Devil Wears Prada were made today, “Death and Romance” could easily be where Andy Sachs is in a busy NYC street montage picking up fashion samples or flirting in the dark corners at a gallery opening.
What’s in My Cart:
Gingham, to me, always feels like one foot in summer and one in fall. I love it in a more refined, smaller check but it still carries a wholesome and comforting feel of the print. I stumbled upon this Zara Home x Tensira collab. I’m curious how in line the quality is with Tensira’s standard production since the prices are very similar. From inspecting the e-commerce photos it does appear to have the same texture as the signature Tensira textiles. I may bite on this number below:
SSENSE sale comes for us all: I found this candle that looks like an incense holder—witchy vibes for fall on significant discount. A sculptural candle holder will always light up on my radar. Much like their fashion-wares they have an on par home section that’s oft overlooked. A good strategy is to check the sale section for home goods on sites that are primarily fashion oriented. Moda Operandi, I’m looking at you!
Major discount alert for MAD et LEN candles. I own Spirituelle and can vouch it smells like “crispy cold mint” that’s listed on its fragrance notes. Some seriously luxe candles for half the price.

Australian merino wool hand-milled in Italy via Snowe Home—I’m really digging this shade of green as you can tell from the moodboard.
’s latest send is how I feel about the state of products and retail. Her title says it all: “I want craft, lasting quality, story, and beauty. It shouldn’t be this hard”. Given the focus on quality and production for this throw via Snowe Home, it seems we all share the same ethos. Mossy and rich, please wrap me up in this one.Current Coffee Shop Order:
London Fog (recipe here)—Iced or hot, it’s what I’m ordering lately and makes for a good change of pace for when you don’t want to go full fall flavors yet. Earl grey + a little vanilla + frothed milk is a delightful combo. If I were to make a “Things I Find Impossibly Chic” list it certainly would include knowing exactly what one wants when ordering.
Vintage eBay Finds:
It wouldn’t be one of my round-ups without a gem of an eBay find. Gunnar Nylund is one of the most renowned ceramicists of the 20th century. He’s a personal favorite of mine, and I was so delighted to find this dish of the Scandinavian artist on eBay.
Fluted pedestal vases are always so elegant, and this one is no exception. The delicate silver overlay on the dark glass is so subtle and pretty, and a great price to match ($20)! Styling it in a modern space or juxtaposing it with natural wood? Perfection.
Design Watch:
For the lovers of Yolanda’s Malibu fridge … AD now brings you: Yolanda’s Texan honey bar. This level of dedication is both inspiring (the bees must be so proud!) and endlessly entertaining. What would you collect for your AD tour? I’m a firm believer that a legendary AD tour always includes a dedicated space to something odd (Emma Robert’s doll wall). Both a head scratcher and memorably committed are what make for a notable space and creates lore around the celebrity—much like famous dressing room riders.

Jenny
